Eyebrow Microblading Is The Right Choice For You

Eyebrow Microblading has intrigued me ever since it came on the scene. If you are around my age, you remember the horrible thin eyebrow trend of the late 90's and early 2000's. And if you are anything like me, you also way over waxed or over plucked your brows.

Some of you may have been able to recover and grow the big, beautiful eyebrows that are so on trend now. Unfortunately, I am not one of those women. I haven't plucked a single hair in 4 years, and I STILL have no growth! I tell ya, it's enough to make a grown woman cry.

No matter how hard I try to fill them in, I can never quite get them even. So, I finally decided it was time to jump on the eyebrow microblading band wagon. Keep reading and I'll fill you in on my experience and results.

What Is Eyebrow Microblading?

Microblading can also be described as a semi-permanent tattoo. The artist uses a small tool that has mini-needles in the end to create thin, hair-like strokes. The ink in the tattoo is matched to your natural hair color.

The Eyebrow Microblading Process

Once I decided that microblading was the route I wanted to take to achieve fuller brows, it was time to get started. First, the artist asked about my brow goals and drew an outline on my face. It was actually a pretty technical process, using facial measurements and taking into account my other features.

Once I approved the final shape, it was time to get numb. It took about 10 minutes to really kick in, but once I did, I didn't feel a thing. I will mention I am in LOVE with this numbing process. I had my eyebrows microbladed once about 6 years ago and I could feel the blade ripping through my skin 😵‍💫 It was way more fabulous this time!

Microblading and Healing

When your brows are done, they will be a bit dark and overbearing the first time you look in the mirror. Don't freak out! This is on purpose because they will fade a bit over the first few days as they heal.

The healing takes about a week, and during this time they will flake and peel. This is exactly what you want to happen. Be sure you wash them with mild antibacterial soap and apply a light covering of Aquaphor.

Whatever you do, DO NOT SCRATCH THEM! Even when they itch like a MF'er around day 4. If you pick at them or scratch them, you might remove the ink and then you'll have to start all over. Trust me. Hands off the brows!

Eyebrow Touch-Ups

Usually, you will need to get your eyebrows touched up about 6 weeks later. The touch-up process is similar, so be sure to follow the healing instructions again.

Be ready to enjoy your wake-up and go brows 😍
